We know that therapy is a meaningful investment — of your time, energy, and resources. At Erin Williams Counseling, we honor that by providing high-quality, ethical, and effective care tailored to your unique needs.
We are a private pay practice, which means we do not accept insurance and are considered out-of-network with all insurance providers. However, we gladly accept HSA and FSA cards, and we’re happy to provide a super bill that you can submit to your insurance company in an attempt to receive out-of-network reimbursement.
Many of our clients appreciate the freedom and privacy that comes with private pay therapy, as it allows for more personalized treatment without limitations placed by insurance companies.
If you have questions about our rates, payment options, or how superbills work, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help make the process as smooth as possible.

Erin Williams Counseling is a private pay therapy practice in Canton, Texas. While we do not bill insurance directly, many of our clients are able to get partial reimbursement from their insurance provider by submitting a superbill for therapy. A superbill is an itemized receipt of your counseling sessions that we provide for you.
Since every insurance plan is different, the best way to find out if you can receive reimbursement for out-of-network therapy is to call your insurance company and ask these questions:
Are you eligible for insurance reimbursement?
-

Use the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your out-of-network mental health coverage for outpatient psychotherapy.
-

Some plans cover therapy with providers who are not in-network, but others do not. Be sure to ask specifically about out-of-network counseling or psychotherapy.
-

Find out if you have an out-of-network deductible, how much it is, and how much of it you’ve already met. This will help you know when your reimbursement would begin.
-

Most plans reimburse a percentage of the session fee once your deductible is met. Confirm the rate for out-of-network therapy, and whether there are limits on the number of sessions covered.
At Erin Williams Counseling, we believe in being transparent about the cost of therapy so you can make informed decisions about your care. Under the No Surprises Act (a federal law effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your therapy services may cost.
A Good Faith Estimate is a document we provide to help you understand and anticipate the financial investment of counseling. This estimate outlines expected fees for services such as individual therapy, couples counseling, family sessions, or psychological evaluations.
Key Points About Your Good Faith Estimate:
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before your first session or at any time upon request.
- The estimate will include the type of service you’re seeking (for example, 50-minute individual counseling or 90-minute couples counseling) and the fee per session.
- If you continue therapy, we will provide a projected cost based on the frequency and duration of your sessions (for example, weekly or biweekly).
- The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract—it’s designed to give you clarity and help avoid unexpected costs.
- If your actual bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge.
