Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any experience with Pilates?
Not at all. The movement portion of Rested is designed for beginners and all fitness levels. This is not an intense workout. Our focus is on gentle, restorative movement that helps regulate the nervous system, increase body awareness, and reconnect you with your body. You'll always be encouraged to move in a way that feels comfortable for you.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. We recommend comfortable clothing you can move in for gentle Pilates, along with layers to help you stay comfortable throughout the day. Think cozy, relaxed, and effortless.
What should I bring?
Just yourself. We'll provide everything you'll need for the retreat, including materials for the creative mindfulness experience, meals, and refreshments. You're welcome to bring a journal, a reusable water bottle, and anything that helps you feel comfortable throughout the day.
Are brunch and lunch included?
Yes! Your registration includes a beautifully prepared brunch, a nourishing lunch, infused water throughout the day, and light refreshments.
Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?
We will do our best to accommodate dietary needs. During registration, you'll have the opportunity to let us know about food allergies or dietary restrictions so we can plan accordingly.
Can I come by myself?
Absolutely—and many women do. Rested was intentionally designed to be a welcoming experience whether you attend with friends or come on your own. Through small group conversations and shared experiences, you'll have natural opportunities to connect with other women while always being free to enjoy quiet moments if that's what you need.
I'm an introvert. Will I have to participate in everything?
Not at all. While there will be opportunities for meaningful conversation and small group discussion, you're always encouraged to participate in a way that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to speak or share. This day is about honoring what you need.
Is this a therapy retreat?
No. Rested is an educational wellness retreat designed to help women better understand burnout, chronic stress, the nervous system, and the mind-body connection. You'll learn practical tools, participate in restorative wellness experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations with other attendees. While many women find the experience deeply meaningful, Rested is not group therapy and is not a substitute for individual counseling, psychotherapy, or medical care.
Will I be asked to share personal or traumatic experiences?
No. Rested is intentionally designed to be a safe and respectful learning experience, not a therapeutic processing group. While you'll have opportunities to participate in guided conversations and reflection circles, there is never an expectation or requirement to share personal, traumatic, or deeply private experiences. You are always welcome to participate at the level that feels comfortable for you, and honoring your own boundaries is encouraged throughout the day.
What if I become emotional during the retreat?
Many women discover that slowing down allows them to notice thoughts and emotions they've been too busy to acknowledge. If emotions arise, know that they are welcome. You're free to step outside, take a quiet moment, continue journaling, or simply sit and breathe. While Rested is not a therapy retreat, it is thoughtfully facilitated by mental health professionals who understand the importance of creating an environment that is compassionate, respectful, and supportive.
Is this retreat only for women who are experiencing burnout?
Not at all. Rested is for women who feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, constantly "on," or simply longing for space to slow down and reconnect. You don't have to be in complete burnout to benefit from this experience.
Will there be opportunities to ask questions?
Yes. Our educational sessions include time for questions, and our reflection circles provide opportunities to discuss what you're learning with other women in a welcoming environment.
Will there be breaks throughout the day?
Yes. The day has been intentionally designed with spaciousness in mind. You'll have opportunities to stretch, refill your water, explore the beautiful venue, visit the restroom, connect with other attendees, or simply enjoy a few quiet moments alone.
What if I'm currently seeing a therapist?
Wonderful. Rested complements the work you may already be doing in therapy by providing education, practical wellness experiences, and intentional space to reconnect with yourself. It is not a replacement for therapy but can be a meaningful addition to your overall well-being.
Is there an age requirement?
Rested is designed for women ages 18 and older.
Will I leave with tools I can actually use?
Absolutely. Our goal isn't simply for you to leave feeling refreshed for a day. You'll gain a deeper understanding of burnout, practical strategies for managing chronic stress, simple practices to incorporate into everyday life, and meaningful intentions you can continue living long after the retreat has ended.
What if I don't know anyone attending?
You're in good company. Many women attend on their own. Rested was intentionally created to make meaningful connection feel natural, never forced. Whether you leave with new friendships or simply the comfort of knowing you're not alone, you'll be welcomed exactly as you are.
What happens after I sign up ?
You'll receive a confirmation email with everything you need to know. As the retreat approaches, we'll send additional details including what to wear, arrival information, parking instructions, and a few special surprises to help you prepare for your day of rest.
EXPERIENCES THAT RESTORE
Guided Reflection
Guided reflection is simply an opportunity to slow down and check in with yourself. Through thoughtful prompts and quiet moments, you'll have space to notice what you're learning, what you're feeling, and what matters most to you in this season of life. You won't be required to share your reflections with anyone. This is your time to pause, become more aware of yourself, and leave with intentions you can carry into your everyday life.
Restorative Sound Bath
A sound bath is a guided relaxation experience where you'll simply get comfortable, rest, and listen to the calming sounds of instruments such as crystal singing bowls. The soothing vibrations and peaceful atmosphere are designed to help you slow down, quiet the mental noise, and create space for deep rest. Just come as you are and allow yourself the opportunity to pause, breathe, and receive.
Gentle Pilates & Movement
This is not about getting a workout or pushing yourself. Gentle Pilates is a mindful movement practice designed to help you reconnect with your body, release tension, and move with intention. Throughout the session, you'll also learn how movement supports your nervous system, helps manage chronic stress, and can be a powerful part of recovering from burnout. No experience is necessary, and every movement can be modified to meet you where you are.
